Riverside Animal Centre Pets Service logoabout us

Pets Service

At Riverside Animal Centre we also offer help to cats, dogs and other small pets, arising from our experience gained in providing 24hour rescue assistance to wildlife in need. Whilst there are many centres engaged in re-homing unwanted pets few, if any, are on stand-by 24-7-365 to respond to real emergencies.

This is where we come in.

Covering a principal area comprising the four River Wandle boroughs, our rescue team is there to pick up the pieces, free of charge, when an animal is injured and their owner isn’t present.

Pets, cats and dogsWe also assist in incidents involving abandoned animals or those in life-threatening and dangerous situations, often working alongside the emergency services.

In support of our work, we have a separate ward for cats and small pets, away from the wildlife areas of our centre, plus a small number of short stay dog kennels to help with any strays we encounter.

We are licensed to access the Petlog database so that any micro-chipped animals can be quickly re-united with their owners and we have access to some of the best 24 hour veterinary facilities in the capital should the need arise.

Education has always been at the heart of our work with wildlife and with pets it will be no different. Making use of our barn and garden area, we will be developing a programme of events that promote enjoyable and responsible pet ownership, ranging from information and fun days through to puppy parties, dog training sessions and microchipping promotions.

Pets, rabbitsWe will be working with a variety of partners including the police, local authorities, vets and other charities and publicizing these events on this website.

All of this work can only happen with your support and we hope you will consider making a donation or becoming a member of our charity.
