IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

The Riverside Animal Centre’s Cat Unit closed in July and we have no further involvement with cats.

As of today, 1st September, our Wildlife Unit opening hours will reduce to 9am to 6pm daily and our Rescue Service is ended. Also, our phone lines will now no longer be staffed, instead offering a recorded message. This is part of our winding down process, prior to our full closure from 19th September onwards.

You can, however, still bring any small wildlife casualty or orphan to us and it will be cared for through until it is ready for release, however long that may take.

Thereafter, as of Monday 19th September, the Riverside Animal Centre will be PERMANENTLY CLOSED TO ALL NEW ADMISSIONS.

A new Wildlife Charity will open at our Beddington Park site early in 2017. The charity will offer rescue and rehabilitation services to certain species of wildlife in which it will specialize. It will also operate as an educational and research facility. More details will be posted here towards the autumn as well as a link to the website of the new charity as and when available. The new charity will have no involvement in domestic animal welfare and will be entirely separate from Riverside Animal Centre. The name of the new Charity will be announced in due course.

For large animal wildlife rescues, please contact the RSPCA on 0300 1234 999 or search for local independent rescues on-line.

If you are seeking assistance with a cat in need of rehoming/rescue, or wish to offer a home to a rescue cat, please contact either the new Cats Protection Centre in Mitcham at
