Become a volunteer of London Wildcare

volunteerLondon Wildcare is recruiting volunteers to help out at its hospital and rescue centre in Beddington Park.

The hospital is one of the largest and busiest professional wildlife facilities in the UK. But with the cost of providing a care and rescue service for sick, injured and orphaned wildlife in excess of £180,000 a year, the charity relies heavily on a dedicated team of volunteers.

The hospital will be holding its next volunteer recruitment day on Sunday 14th March between 11am and 3pm. This will be an opportunity for prospective volunteers to learn more about what is involved with working at the hospital, meet our staff and volunteer team and sign up for a shift at the end of the visit. No booking is necessary, just turn up any time between 11 and 3.

Refreshments will be provided but please note that we are only able to allow prospective volunteers into the event...no children will be admitted as this is not an open day and there will be no provisions made for their safety or supervision. Prospective volunteers are advised that owing to forthcoming changes at the hospital, there may be a requirement to work with limited numbers of domestic animals as well as wildlife.

The minimum age for volunteers is 17 and, regrettably, the work is not suitable for individuals with any disability that restricts movement, handling or vision beyond a moderate level nor for any individual unable to work alone, unsupervised, on complex and physically demanding tasks.
