London WIldcare Trust Conservation Logoabout us

Our Commitment to Conservation

London Wildcare is much more than just an ‘animal charity’...we appreciate the importance of preserving the habitats and environment that our wildlife needs to thrive and we play an active part in achieving this in our local area.

We promote conservation through a variety of educational opportunities, ranging from providing information to the public at our open days through to incorporating conservation into the programme when we host visits from schools, scout packs and other groups.

Conservation 1We also participate in the workings of various societies such as Parks Friends groups and have worked to increase the profile of a broad range of wildlife issues in the voluntary and community sector

Furthermore, we have been participating in hands on events since the early days of the charity, back in the mid-nineties.

Our ability to deploy trained and equipped teams of people not afraid to get dirty, smelly and wet has meant that we have been able to make significant contributions to everything from river clean-ups and litter picks to tree planting and bird/bat box days.

Conservation 2Our sister charity, The Wandle Valley Conservation Trust has been established to provide a professional vector for our energy and enthusiasm in this field as we move ahead into a new decade and we look forward to growing our commitment and our influence in this field along the length of the River Wandle Corridor, which remains of special significance to us.
