Barn, eventsthe barn

The Riverside Barn plays a key role in all of our major events, including Open Days, the Easter Egg Hunt and our Petcare days. It is also used as an information and mustering point for visiting schools, cub/brownie packs and other groups who come to learn about our work as part of our educational programme.

In addition, it is used to host our annual volunteer conference and many of the in-house training sessions we offer, both to our own volunteers and to external organizations such as Parks Friends Groups.

Barn, trainingFrom June 2010 onwards, our barn will be available for hire to anyone wanting to host animal related activities such as puppy parties or dog training classes, as well as to groups needing a base for more specialized activities such as photographic days, bird/bat box building or information events.

Users benefit from a large, airy space with electric and natural light, use of tea and coffee making facilities with ample chairs and tables of various types.

Facilities also include private male/female toilets with full disabled access, large free car parling area outside the centre, access to our enclosed wildlife garden* and, of course, our location within 125 acres of beautiful and historic parkland.

The barn floor has a basic concrete finish, making it ideal for a range of more robust uses which might not be acceptable in traditional halls and conference rooms.
